A diverse region with diverse needs

Nations across Europe face an ongoing refugee crisis, economic disparities and rising living costs. This leads to homelessness and food insecurity, even in wealthier nations. Extreme weather linked to climate change is putting vulnerable populations at greater risk and testing disaster response capabilities. Humaniti is focused on addressing the needs of this unique region so we can close the gap between those living well and those struggling to survive.

Relief in Europe

Worsening weather events like heatwaves and floods overwhelm communities across Europe while the refugee crisis results in countless individuals and families struggling without shelter or basic necessities. All the while, poverty affects millions throughout the region. Humaniti is expanding our programs across Europe to meet the immediate needs of those most effected by these multiple crises.

Food security in Europe

Millions of people across the region struggle to afford nutritious food due to rising costs and economic instability. Low-income families and refugees are particularly affected, being forced to rely on food banks and government aid programs. Humaniti and our partners are launching programs to support these vulnerable populations with hot meals and consistent access to nutritious food that we all deserve.

Water access in Europe

While most of Europe can access to clean water, some rural and marginalized communities still face contamination and supply issues due to aging infrastructure, pollution, and climate change. Droughts and industrial waste further threaten water quality, putting public health at risk. As Humaniti builds sustainable water sources worldwide, we seek to support these water-scarce populations across Europe with the systems that best serve their circumstances.

Healthcare in Europe

Healthcare access in Europe varies widely, with differences in affordability and availability across countries. Long wait times, lack of staff, and rising costs make it difficult for low-income individuals and migrants to receive timely and adequate care. Humaniti and our partners are collaborating on projects to bolster healthcare systems across the region and help these vulnerable populations get the care they deserve.

Prosperity in Europe

Poverty and lack of opportunities affect millions across the region. Limited access to education, employment, and social support systems makes it difficult for people to escape cycles of hardship. Humaniti seeks to change the circumstances for these groups with a mix of support to alleviate struggles caused by poverty, as well as livelihood programs that empower people to learn new skills, secure a steady income and seize opportunities to prosper.

Support for mothers in Europe

Many mothers in Europe face challenges such as limited access to affordable childcare and workplace discrimination. These gaps in social and economic support make it difficult for mothers, especially single and low-income mothers to balance work, childcare, and their well-being. Humaniti and our partners lead programs that fill in the gaps of this support, from food supplies to healthcare to counselling.

Child welfare in Europe

Many factors impact the well-being of children in Europe including poverty, underfunded and understaffed social services, and gaps in protection for vulnerable children, including those in foster care and migrant communities. As we expand our impact in Europe, Humaniti and our partners are prioritizing the needs of these underserved children and launching programs that deliver everything from basic care and essential supplies to education, opportunities, and rights advocacy.
