After two years marked by war, fear, and loss, a ceasefire was declared last month in Gaza. Yet for the people, survival remains uncertain. Families across Gaza are still facing extreme shortages of food, clean water, medicine, and essential supplies. Winter has also brought freezing rain. Thousands remain displaced, living in makeshift shelters, and struggling to meet their most basic needs.
Humaniti continues to work inside Gaza providing critical aid directly to affected communities
Our teams are also scaling up operations from Egypt and Jordan, coordinating cross-border relief efforts to reach those most in need.
In Egypt, Humaniti is preparing trucks loaded with food parcels, medicine, shelter materials, and hygiene kits ready to enter Gaza.
In Jordan, our team is sending flour, ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF), and emergency supplies to support malnourished children and vulnerable families.

- Nearly 1.5 million people in the Gaza Strip are in need of emergency shelter support.
- Access to safe water remains critically low, families are surviving on minimal quantities unsuitable for drinking, cooking, or hygiene.
- The food situation is deteriorating rapidly, with widespread shortages and rising malnutrition as aid access remains restricted.
- Around 290,000 children (aged between six months and five years) require urgent nutrition support, including feeding programmes and micronutrient supplementation.

Humaniti continues to operate on the ground
Amid this devastation, we are delivering clean water, essential supplies, and shelter support – helping families rebuild dignity and hope.
Since October 2023:
- Over 69,000 lives have been lost. Thousands more remain missing beneath the rubble – unrecorded, but not forgotten. Official figures include only those brought to hospitals, meaning the true toll is likely far higher.
- At least 20,000 children are among the dead – an average of one child every hour over the past two years.
- 2,700 families have been completely removed from civil registries.
- More than 169,000 people have been injured, many left with permanent disabilities.
- Over 4,000 children have lost one or more limbs (UNICEF).
- 459 people, including 154 children, have died from starvation.
- 56,000+ children have lost one or both parents.
- 1,009 infants under one year old have lost their lives, including hundreds born during the conflict.
- Since May 27, over 2,600 deaths and 19,000 injuries have been reported among people waiting for aid near distribution points.
