Yemen’s humanitarian crisis is escalating
Be the difference
The United Nations has declared the situation in Yemen as a global humanitarian crisis
Yemen has been declared the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, and with the current pandemic – there is a chance that Yemen may be completely wiped off the map. After years of conflict, a broken economy, an unfortunate health system, a cholera outbreak, famine. It is clear that the people of Yemen are in dire need of help.

A Child Dies Every Ten Minutes in Yemen
The situation is especially dire for children under five, with approximately 2.3 million suffering from acute malnutrition. Tragically, 400,000 of these children are expected to face life-threatening severe malnutrition in the coming months. Every ten minutes, a child in Yemen loses their life to preventable causes.
“We eat only what we can get from aid agencies. If we don’t receive food, then some days we eat and other days we go hungry.”
This testimony reflects the harsh reality for many Yemeni families. Due to funding shortfalls, food rations have been drastically reduced, pushing millions closer to starvation. In 2021, international aid pledges amounted to only $600 million, a fraction of the $2.4 billion required to sustain humanitarian programs.

The Current Global Health Crisis Has Made Things Exponentially Worse
The global pandemic has exacerbated Yemen’s challenges. Displaced individuals, already battling conflict and displacement, now face the uncontrolled spread of disease. Overcrowded living conditions and a collapsed healthcare system have made it nearly impossible to contain outbreaks.

Yemen is close to being wiped off the map If we don’t step in
Aid agencies warn that without sufficient funding, life-saving assistance for millions will be cut. More than one-third of UN humanitarian programs in Yemen have already been reduced or shut down due to financial constraints. The people of Yemen have lost their children, homes, livelihoods, and hope.
